Purpose/Mission Statement 

 

          The purpose of the Adams County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame Inc., referred to as the Adams County Sports Hall of Fame (ACSHOF), a non-profit organization, is to perpetuate the memory of individuals who have brought lasting fame and recognition to Adams County, Pennsylvania, and its people through their achievements and contributions to athletics.

Membership

 

          Membership in the ACSHOF is open to all sports-minded individuals, regardless of race, color  sex, or creed.  Membership in the ACSHOF shall not be limited in number.  Membership dues, payable annually, are fifteen dollars ($15.00),

of which the ACSHOF shall retain thirteen dollars ($13.00) and two dollars ($2.00) for each member shall be forwarded to the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame.  Lifetime membership is One-Hundred and Fifty dollars (150.00).

Election to the ACSHOF

 

          In order to qualify for election to the ACSHOF, the person must have brought fame and recognition through his or her contributions in athletics while participating with an Adams County based sports organization, or who maintained residency in Adams County while participating elsewhere.   Also eligible are those persons who have brought similar recognition to Adams County through their contribution to sports in general or in a managerial, promotional, or other influential capacities.

          Criteria for nominees are: Fifty-Five (55) years of age or Twenty-Five (25) years of active participation or Retired from position Three (3) years.

          Selection of Inductees shall be conducted annually and not more than Five (5) living and Two (2) deceased individuals may be elected each year into the ACSHOF.
